Following a substantive tuition fee engagement process with students, and with a focus on maintaining affordability and accessibility to high quality education, the Board of Governors has approved UĢ����ý’s tuition and fees for 2026/2027.   

Tuition for domestic students will increase by two per cent, while international student tuition increases by four per cent. The Board kept thesis-based tuition to current levels, with no increase.

“Meaningful engagement and constructive dialogue with students helped us weigh student concerns alongside the budget challenges of a growing university, and provided valuable insight into their ideas and priorities. We believe the outcome is fair and balanced,” said Dr. Sandra Davidson, PhD., Provost and Vice-President (Academic) of the University of Ģ����ý. 

Summary of new tuition and fee rates

Tuition for domestic students 

• Two per cent increase for undergraduate programs
• Two per cent increase for most graduate course-based and professional programs
• Zero per cent increase for PhD and thesis-based programs

Tuition for international students  

• Four per cent increase for undergraduate programs
• Four per cent increase for most graduate course-based and professional programs
• Zero per cent increase for PhD and thesis-based programs

General fees  

• Four per cent increase to Student Services, Campus Recreation and Athletics fees

Residence rates

• 2.5% to 4.8% increase in residence rates depending on room type
• 3.4% increase in meal plan rate

Parking Rates  

• Student and staff permit rates: 4 to 8.8 % increase
• Daily surface lot rates: Increase of $0.50 to $2  

Evening and weekend rates for non-peak hours will continue for Lots 10, 11, and 32. Multi-pack passes for daily lots in Lots 10, 11, 32, and Arts Parkade are also being introduced. These will be sold in packs of ten, providing a more affordable and flexible option for students and staff.
