Public Humanities Fellow used her research skills to support Alzheimer Ä¢¹½´«Ã½

PhD candidate Comfort Kwarteng featured in university newsletter

A recent issue of UToday showcased Comfort Kwarteng's summer 2023 placement at Alzheimer Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. Kwarteng (Political Science) secured this placement through a Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Institute for the Humanities (CIH) Public Fellowship. Her contribution aimed at improving access for underserved groups. The focus of her research was Indigenous perspectives on dementia. 

Public Humanities Fellowships help PhD candidates, like Kwarteng, gain hands-on experience. By working directly with community organizations, fellows develop valuable transferable skills. Placements last 12 weeks over the summer. Participants receive a $7,500 stipend and tuition reimbursement.
