International student found a surprising way to practise her language skills
Laura Rios, master's student and 3MT winner, shared her experience as a UÄ¢¹½´«Ã½ student at Community Report 2019

Laura Rios is originally from Barrancabermeja, Colombia, a small city known for being very hot and home to the largest oil refinery in the country. She moved to Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ in September of 2018 to pursue her master’s degree of science in chemical engineering at the University of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. Rios' work in modifications of asphalt with reactive polymers earned her the title of UÄ¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s Three Minute Thesis winner earlier this year.
